People who practise neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) use a set of guiding principles, attitudes, and techniques about real-life behaviour.

It allows you to change, adopt or eliminate behaviours, as you desire, and gives you the ability to choose your mental, emotional, and physical states of wellbeing.

The thousands who have learned the secrets of NLP have been so successful because they have applied NLP to their daily lives, and it's the same technology Barak Obama, Sophie Dahl, Oprah Winfrey, Anthony Robbins and Bill Gates (and hundreds of thousands of others) use to achieve consistent results most of us can only dream of.

What is NLP -
Neuro Linguistic Programming?

NLP looks at the way in which we think, store and process our thoughts (neuro), the language patterns we use (linguistic) and our behaviours (programming) and how these interact to have a positive (or negative) effect on us as individuals.

The majority of our thoughts and behaviours come from outside our awareness, commonly known as the unconscious mind. I use a wide range of methods and models working with the conscious and unconscious mind to establish how your thoughts, behaviours, values and beliefs keep you in your current situation.

We can overcome inner conflict to bring about a positive change in life, increase self-awareness, improve communication and change outdated patterns of behaviour.

With NLP, you learn how to grow from life experiences, thus increasing your ability to create a better quality of life. NLP is a very pragmatic technology based on an ability to produce your desired results, thus allowing you to become proficient at creating your future!

Why NLP?
Simply because it's proven to work. If you want to have more choices about your behaviour and emotions, to improve your relationships and the way you communicate, and create better results through becoming a greater thinker,NLP can provide you with a step-by-step framework for achieving all this and more. Not just in the short term, but a lasting transformation which will stay with you for your entire life.

NLP is practical, fun and effective with rapid results. I completely tailor these interactive techniques with other styles to suit your preferences, beliefs and desired style of coaching/therapy.

The Origins of NLP

The majority of literature around the history of NLP is attributed to the work of Bandler and Grinder around the early 1970s at the University of Santa Cruz, California. In particular, their developments leading up to the publication of their book, The Structure of Magic (1975) which laid out their meta-model of communication.

Bandler and Grinder studied the language patterns of Fritz Pearls (Gestalt) and Virginia Satir (family based therapeutic approaches) which they developed further with Bandler's expertise in transformational grammar (TG). Later, with the help of Gregory Bateson, Milton Erickson was studied and adopted into their modelling.

During this time, Bandler and Grinder worked with small groups of people (and other researchers) analysing their results and further refining their work and developing their understanding into what became NLP with its presuppositions and communication and modelling models.

Mind Filters

We have a number of filters that have a huge impact on our perceptions. These are grouped into two categories called neurological and linguistic filters. Within these filters, we have deletions, distortions and generalisations incorporating held beliefs and pre-existing models of the world which have been accumulated through positive and negative past experiences and learned behaviour.

Information coming into our mind is passed through our neurological filters before we are even aware of it. We filter it further from the perspective of linguistic understandings which in turn results in our actions through communication and behaviour.

This is essentially, why two individuals can see exactly the same situation but come to different conclusions or see things in a different way. Football is one of the most used analogies to explain this concept: was it or wasn't it a penalty?
